The Kissing Hand-Family Book

Image
One of my favorite books to read at the beginning of the school year is The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn. In the story we meet Chester Raccoon who is scared of going to a new school and leaving his mother behind. Students instantly relate to him because they may also be having the same feelings as Chester Raccoon. I read this book to my students at the beginning of school year. It helps my students understand their feelings, change, and being away from home.   The Kissing Hand Family Book (Printable and Digital)  This year I have decided to not only read this book to my students but incorporate it into the classroom. For years, I have had a family tree in the classroom or pictures of families displayed in my family somehow. This is why I created the Kissing Hand Family Book. This book involves the participation of the families in your classroom. This book is editable in powerpoint as well as Google Slides. The first page of the book is the cover page with tittle of the book. I would rec

Printable Classroom Labels for Preschool and Kindergarten

Image
Let's talk about labels. Do you have labels in your classroom? Why are labels so important in the classroom?  Classroom Labels Labeling your classroom provides a meaningful print-rich learning environment for your students. Your students are able to make a connection between spoken words and written words just by viewing the labels. Make sure that all of your classroom labels have pictures to help your students easily access all of the materials. When it is time to clean-up your students will have an easier time putting things back where they belong. If your center is NAEYC certified or looking to get certified, labeling your classroom is also a great way to full-fill their requirements.  I created these classroom labels with you in mind! They are in English and Spanish to meet the needs of most of your students in the classroom. Grab them here in my store or click the picture below.

Morning Greetings-Social Distancing

Image
Let's face it school will never be the same this year, but we can still build relationships and make a positive impression. Study shows that greeting your students in a positive way in the morning yields a positive classroom culture. You are connecting with your students and making them feel comfortable. Students are feeling more welcomed and safer with you knowing that you welcome them every morning. I have noticed increased engagement,  and less disruptive behavior in the classroom from being able to connect with my students at this level. These social distancing greeting posters are a great way to continue a positive classroom culture, and still social distance. Grab them here or by clicking the picture.
